The first public camogie match took place in Dublin in 1904 and shortly after
that, the Camogie Association was formed with the aim of providing a Gaelic
Games outlet for the women of Ireland.
The first All Ireland took place in 1932 with Dublin taking the honours over
Galway to win the O'Duffy Cup by a score line of 3 - 2 to 0 - 2. In 1934 the
final was played in Croke Park and today the final has become a major date in
the GAA calendar.
There are numerous events scheduled throughout the year including a Camogie
exhibition in the GAA Museum and the announcement of the team of the Century.
Ireland commemmorated the centenary with two stamps designed by Finbarr
O'Connor.
