Cumann Camógaíochta Stamps

48c Se-tenant Pair

The first public camogie match took place in Dublin in 1904 and shortly after that, the Camogie Association was formed with the aim of providing a Gaelic Games outlet for the women of Ireland.

The first All Ireland took place in 1932 with Dublin taking the honours over Galway to win the O'Duffy Cup by a score line of 3 - 2 to 0 - 2. In 1934 the final was played in Croke Park and today the final has become a major date in the GAA calendar.

There are numerous events scheduled throughout the year including a Camogie exhibition in the GAA Museum and the announcement of the team of the Century. Ireland commemmorated the centenary with two stamps designed by Finbarr O'Connor.
