I don't know if the artist who drew the cover art for the May 14, 1960 issue of the Saturday Evening Post was a stamp collector, but it seems a good guess.
Then, as now, it seems that all we poor philatelists would like is a brief time of peace and quiet in which to pursue our collecting interests. And then, as now, the likelihood of being granted such a wish too often seems unlikely.
I've been a stamp collector (with occasional, and sometimes quite long, dormant periods) for over 40 years. This includes a childhood period in which I gleefully stuck stamps directly to album pages. (Note to others: don't do this.)
I am also, and have been for quite some time, a proud member of the American Philatelic Society.
