Daniel McAdam

Brief Biography

Daniel McAdam was born on Long Island, NY, a direct descendant of some notable early settlers of Long Island, including John Townsend and Thomas Jones (after whom Jones Beach is named).  Among other settlers of what is now the United States, one of his earliest direct descendants is Robert Cole, a Puritan who came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630.  He is also directly descended from the Conklin brothers, who became the first glassmakers in America when they set up shop in colonial Salem.  (They left for Long Island before people started burning witches - probably a good idea.)
