Magic Stamps

Royal Mail’s special stamps celebrate the centenary of the Magic Circle with five suitably ‘magical’ interactive stamps that guarantee you a trick before you lick. Scratch a coin over a stamp to show heads or tails, use the heat from your finger to reveal all, or challenge yourself with a few optical illusions.

The Magic Circle was founded in 1905 when stage magic was enjoying a golden age. Its first President was David Devant, the most popular British magician of his era, who gathered 22 magicians together at London’s Pinoli’s Restaurant. Today the Magic Circle has around 1,500 members from all over the world. Magicians such as David Blaine, Derren Brown and David Copperfield all owe it a debt.
